Canadian aviation framework
Applicable requirements depend on the aircraft, location and flight profile. Ven-Tech plans each project to the current Canadian framework, which may include the following certificates, registrations and authorizations.
Applied to advanced operations such as controlled-airspace work, closer proximity to people and eligible medium-drone operations.
Used for eligible lower-risk complex operations, including applicable beyond-visual-line-of-sight missions.
Required for an operator conducting Level 1 Complex operations under the applicable Canadian framework.
Project-specific Transport Canada authorization for operations that fall outside Basic, Advanced or Level 1 Complex rules.
Registration, operating documentation and aircraft safety assurance are matched to the category and intended mission.
Controlled-airspace or military-aerodrome permission is obtained when the project location and flight profile require it.

Deliverables can include high-resolution imagery, annotated findings, thermal records, orthomosaics, 3D models, point clouds, volumetric calculations, progress comparisons and project-specific inspection reports.
Controlled-airspace work is assessed mission by mission. The pilot certificate, aircraft capability, site controls and required NAV CANADA or Department of National Defence authorization must all align before the flight proceeds.
Many aerial inspections can be completed with limited operational disruption. Final requirements depend on the asset hazards, personnel exposure, process conditions, airspace and the client’s site controls.
